![]() He'd served on the board of Helios since November 2016, a few months before the company took a majority stake in the popular movie-theater-subscription app MoviePass last summer. Schramm is a professor at Syracuse University who previously ran the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, a nonprofit focused on entrepreneurship and education. "Just last week, I learned that management withheld material information from the board for several months." "These concerns have increased substantially over the past eight weeks as management apparently has made a number of important corporate decisions and executed significant transactions either without board knowledge or approval, or in board meetings initiated with only a few hours of advance notice by email (at least one of which I did not even know had been called until the meeting had concluded)," Schramm continued. He also accused management of not giving the board "sufficient time" to examine "complex documents, to review significant transactions, or to discuss how the proposed actions fit into the company's strategic plan." In Schramm's resignation letter, he said that for several months he'd raised "questions and expressed concerned about the corporate governance" of Helios, and he accused management of withholding material information from the board for months. Just don’t expect a hotel.Account icon An icon in the shape of a person's head and shoulders. Know what to expect, persevere if you can’t reach them, and you can rent a nice large modern apartment at a decent rate. Note that there is no where to wait other than to stand by the front door. When I left I saw a family unable to get in, and waiting for an agent, seeming very frustrated and put out as if they had been waiting a long while. I think they should have a key drop instead. At checkout you are required to leave the key in the apartment and no one actually checks you out, so there is also no way to confirm you’ve left the apartment in good order and that the company actually gets their key back. They give you only one key, which is inconvenient for more than one couple. There are other issues - we waited a half hour for someone to check us in even though I had texted several times earlier with the time of our arrival. This seemed unnecessarily challenging to me and I almost gave up on the process. I suggest you book directly with them, get the agents name and cell number and confirm and double check all your info before signing a lease and sending the payment. You need to pay for your rental in advance, and I received different info from different agents regarding price, security deposit, cleaning fees, etc. I personally found it challenging as they have more than one number and rarely answered the phone. Which leads us to some negatives, mainly communication issues with the rental management firm and their policies. The terrace was unfinished unsealed concrete which gave off a huge amount of dirt or dust, easily tracked into the apartment and making bare feet either in the terrace or indoors a bad choice. ![]() Same with the beach towels, which I found on a shelf in a closet in the study. There’s no way to know about the cushions unless you ask because the info is not provided otherwise. No chairs at the pool, only loungers for which you need to haul your own heavy cushions up from a storage closet a half flight below and return when you’re done, quite a chore and awkward. The pool is very clean and heated, and the jacuzzi was a bit too hot but fine. The views were great especially from the rooftop pool. Bathrooms are also very good with European style showers. The kitchen was especially nice with high end Bosch appliances and it was well stocked with good utensils, glass, dish and cookware. It even had a study which could serve as a third bedroom. The 2BR water view we stayed in apartment was new and comfortably furnished with modern functional furniture.
